Purging Old Data at Year EndIt is necessary in any system to purge old records. CentreBill stores information in its tables
till purged. Only records which do not have dependencies may be purged. Likewise, live accounts cannot be purged.
Once purged, the old records are saved in a long file structure (for efficiency purposes) until
finally removed from the system, typically seven years alter.
Provided they have not been deleted, the purged records may be restored.
This screen below shows the interface displaying the login and
operation of the purge function. Only authorized personnel may initiate a purge process. The purge process is effective as at a date entered, normally the end of a financial year.
For each of the purge processes, a report detailing exactly what has been purged is generated and stored in CentreBill.
