Service Details For Customer

Once the services have been defined in the Company Setup section, then these may be assigned to a customer. Services added to a customer will be billed on a recurring charge basis provided they are still active, or current, i.e. they have not expired or been terminated.

An unlimited number of services may be added for each customer.

Service List

By selecting the Services tab in the Customer View, the list of services assigned to the customer will be displayed. The default display will be for active services only, i.e. those that have not expired.

The Show All button will list all services associated with the customer, including expired services.



For each service under the service list view, the following is displayed:
  • Status – if the service is Active or Inactive, or some other status as defined in the Company Setup section
     
  • Reference – this is a field which is used to identify the service on the customer's invoice. By default, it will use the services username, but may be edited by the customer online if desired.
     
  • Plan Name – this is the name of the Item, or Plan, that has previously been configured in the Company Setup section and allocated to the customer
     
  • Description – this is the full description of the Item or Plan as defined in the Company Setup section
     
  • Effective Date – is the date that the service was activated for the customer. Charges are raised against the service commencing on the Effective Date
     
  • Expiry Date – is the date that the service is due to expire. In the event of Active services, this will default to 31 December 9999. For Inactive services, this will display the date at which the service became inactive.
     
  • Contract Length – this is the length of the contract for the service.
     
  • Contract Expiry – this is the date on which the current contract for the service is to expire

Service Details

The View button shows the details associated with each service selected. The user may then:

  • Allocate multiple services per Client
     
  • Manage attributes against each service
     
  • View detailed information for each service

These values are used for billing purposes.



When a new service is added to a customer, the service inherits all the attributes configured for the service when it was originally defined in the Company Setup section. At any time, the user may then edit each of the values as required in order to make a unique service for the customer.



Once off Charges

These are configured in the Company Setup section and may be modified when activating a new service for a customer.


Other Attributes

All Other Attributes are inherited from the original service definition. Typically these will not have any values preconfigured as each of the values will be unique to the service being added. The screen below shows the view for an existing service assigned to a customer.
